Dr. Erick Thompson grew up in Elk River. He graduated in 2001 from Elk River Area High School. He attended Minnesota State University, Mankato, and graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor’s in Human Biology and a minor in Chemistry. In 2013 he moved back to the Elk River area while he attended chiropractic school. He graduated in 2016 from Northwestern Health Sciences University as a Doctor of Chiropractic.
In 2017, Dr. Erick opened a practice in Elk River. During the three years of that clinic, he discovered and developed his personal philosophy toward the science and art of chiropractic care. The biggest component of which is the fact that neither chiropractic care nor any other health care modality, is a magic bullet to health and wellness. While he genuinely believes that almost everyone would benefit from chiropractic care, not everyone absolutely needs it. He believes in giving his patients the tools to take control of their health. Ultimately, Dr. Erick chose to close his practice in 2020, joining forces with Dr. Carrie Collyard-Glinsek here at Collyard Chiropractic.
Dr. Erick currently lives in Monticello with his partner, Beth, and their 5 children. His oldest attends Spectrum, and his other three daughters attend the same elementary school he did, Meadowvale. Beth’s son attends Monticello public schools. Their children participate in various activities, such as baseball, gymnastics, soccer, and volleyball. In their spare time, they enjoy exploring nature and new places. Dr. Erick also loves billiards and enjoys reading.
